The Challenge

A 12-location restaurant chain was paying 30% commission fees to DoorDash and UberEats — eating into already-thin margins. Their existing website was a static WordPress page with a PDF menu. Customers called in orders, leading to long hold times, order errors, and lost sales during peak hours. The owner wanted to own the customer relationship and stop bleeding revenue to third-party platforms.

We built a mobile-first progressive web app that gives customers a seamless ordering experience while keeping 100% of the revenue in-house.

Mobile-First PWA with Next.js

Built a blazing-fast PWA using Next.js with offline support, push notifications, and add-to-homescreen prompts. The menu loads in under 1 second, supports real-time item availability, and remembers past orders for one-tap reordering.

Real-Time Order Management with Supabase

Supabase powers the real-time order queue — kitchen staff see orders appear instantly on a tablet dashboard with audio alerts. Each location has its own queue, and managers can toggle menu items on/off in real time when items sell out.

Stripe Payments & Tipping

Integrated Stripe for seamless checkout with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and saved cards. Built a custom tipping UI that increased average tip amounts by 40%. Split payment support for group orders.

SMS Order Updates via Twilio

Customers receive real-time SMS updates — order confirmed, preparation started, ready for pickup. Twilio webhooks trigger at each kitchen status change. Average pickup wait time dropped from 18 minutes to 6 minutes.
